It is 11:39. I will be quick to first point out the large difference in 11:39 PM in Athens versus 11:39 PM in southern Georgia. A) in athens, at this point I am either cramming for some unrealistic science exam or B) Having an extremely pleasant time in one of the myriad of Athens acclaimed bars and enjoying the downtown scene to the fullest extent my almost 21 years will allow. Lets juxtapose that with south Georgia, where I am presently. So A) in south georgia, being out on the town at this time of night is truly unacceptable and well, if there even was an “out on the town experience” I assure you I would be there. B) I hear silence in my childhood home filled with noisy men and boys, dubbed by my younger brothers the “man cave.” Silence is observed in south Georgia, especially after 11 o’clock, because after all, hasn’t your sweet grandmother with her southern charm told you that ‘nothin’ good happens after 11pm.” Grandma, I am beginning to believe you.
